You've found the prayer page for Riverlawn Students' High School Peak Conference! Each year, our high schoolers head to Woodland Park, Colorado, for a week of camp, fun, and growing closer to Jesus. Prayer is a massively important part of all we do, and we're asking you to pray specifically for what God will do in the lives of our high schoolers this year at Peak. Below you'll find specific ways to pray over the next few weeks as we anticipate all that God has in store for these students.

Below you'll find specific ways to pray over the next few weeks as we anticipate all that God has in store for these students.
GETTING STARTED
Being on this page likely means you picked up a Peak Prayer Tag at church! This tag has the name of a student going to Peak. Whether you know them personally or not, God knows them far greater than we ever could. As you pray over this name for the next month, ask God to move in this student's life in the specific way He has planned for them.
As you look at this keychain, consider Paul's words in Ephesians 3:20-21: "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."
God is planning immeasurable, unimaginable things at Peak in the lives of these students. May we be faithful in praying for Him to move in ways only He can!

BEFORE PEAK
This year at Peak, our theme is "Psalms: Postures of the Heart." Our focus for the week is to look at the Psalms as a guide for being real and authentic with God. Students today are longing for authenticity and truth, but often struggle to be authentic themselves. The Psalmists show us how to be real with God and seek Him in every season, and Jesus Himself constantly shows us how to be real and authentic with the Father.
As it says in Hebrews 2:17-18, "For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted."
As we seek Christ's help, we are able to be real with God and in that honesty, grow into a deeper, more fruitful relationship with Him.
Be praying as we get closer to leaving for Peak (July 26) that God will remove distractions and temptations from these students' lives, so they can enter the week already prepared to be real with Him.

PEAK WEEK
It's Peak Week! Below are the daily themes and the purpose for each day. Be praying for our students as they encounter God through the different genres of the Psalms and are challenged to be honest about these same emotions themselves.
Night 1: Prophecy (Sunday)
Jesus is throughout the Psalms! Psalm 110:4 says, "The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: 'You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.'" Starting with prophecy in the Psalms, students will learn how Jesus is woven throughout the Psalmists praised Him and consistently pointed to His eventual arrival and reign. As students learn about Jesus in the Psalms, they'll see how interacting with the Psalms is an important part of growing with God.
Night 2: Praise (Monday)
Day two, students will look at psalms of praise and ask the questions "Why is God worth praising?" and "Is that evident in my words and life?" Students will be challenged to be honest with God about what they see as worthy of praising Him for, and why. This begins the process of checking their hearts and seeing if there's anything keeping them from praising Him fully (Psalm 139:23-24).
Night 3: Lament (Tuesday)
Today gets a little heavy. Students will be asked to deal head-on with the things they're disappointed in God about. What have you felt let down by in your own life, and how did you deal with it? Hold that in mind as you pray for the students, as they wrestle with lamenting their disappointments and heartbreaks to God, learning how to come to Him honestly and truthfully with their hearts and brokenness.
Night 4: Confession (Wednesday)
When lament isn't dealt with well, it can lead to sin. Today we'll look at how, in our brokenness and hurt, we sometimes turn to sin instead of God for answers and relief, only making things worse. At worship this night, students will have a chance to confess their sins to God and ask for a pure, clean heart (Psalm 51:10). Be praying for students to be honest with God about their sin and whatever keeps them from being fully committed to Him.
Night 5: Thanksgiving (Thursday)
Today is a day of celebration! We can live a life of consistent thankfulness when we know how to be real with God in every season of life. Having worked through praise, lament, and confession, students now arrive at thanksgiving. When we can praise God for who He is and be honest with Him about our disappointments and our sins, we begin to see the full picture more clearly, walking through life with God in a sense of peace and thankfulness. Pray that students leave Peak carrying that same sense of peace and thankfulness as they head home.

POST PEAK
As students leave Peak, they come down from the mountaintop high and head back into the real world, with all the difficulties it brings. Be praying for:
- Students to continue the practices they learned during Peak as they head back home and back to school, keeping God close in their daily lives.
- God to continue revealing Himself to the students as they seek Him with honesty and authenticity.
- The students to feel closer to their church family and to Jesus Christ.
