Sunday Morning Classes

Equipping Classes

Equipping Classes are short-term classes usually lasting 6-10 weeks and focusing on a particular topic of discipleship or equipping for ministry. These classes vary throughout the year. Current classes starting in January include:

  • Equipping Class: Ezra - Join Pastors Josh and Caleb as we begin a new Equipping Class through the book of Ezra. This study will kick off on Sunday, April 7th at 11am in Room D-7 and runs through the end of May.

  • Equipping Class: The Body as Biblical Counselors - We are told in Colossians 3:16 to “counsel one another in all wisdom.” But what exactly does that mean? Join Pastor Kurt as a new equipping class on “The Body as Biblical Counselors” will begin Sunday, April 7 at 11 to help prepare each of us to counsel our brothers and sisters through the difficulties in life. The class will be divided into three eight-week sessions – you may attend any of the sessions independently or take part in all three. The first session will include such topics as defining Biblical counseling, understanding the role of a shepherd, counseling from the heart, learning the different tenses of sanctification, and much more. Each class will be one hour and will include all the notes and guides you will need to move forward in your call to counsel friends, family and the church body.
  • Griefshare: Grief is a journey that shouldn't be traveled alone. A GriefShare group is a safe place to find support. Riverlawn is offering 2 GriefShare groups this session (one on Tuesdays and one on Sundays). Registration is required. Register at the links below.
