Small Groups

So in Christ, we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

Romans 12:5

Small groups meet at all times throughout the week throughout the city and are a great opportunity to build community and grow in Christ.
We all need community. We need people who can love, encourage, and challenge us to grow in Christ. At Riverlawn, we believe discipleship happens best in the context of a community. Whether online or in person, groups help us grow in Christ, take next steps in our faith journey, and live in community. Groups are made up of 4-14 people of all ages and seasons of life. Groups are opportunities to build community, grow in Christ, and serve others.

At Riverlawn, we believe discipleship happens best in the context of a community. Our next session of small groups kicks off the week of January 12th and runs through the week of March 9th. Small groups are opportunities to build community, grow in Christ, and serve others. Small Group Serving Opportunities

Does your group want to serve? Check out all of the amazing ways you can serve by checking out this list!

  • Block Party: Reserve the Riverlawn block party trailer through the front office and host a neighborhood block party with your group providing the food and games.

  • Youth Horizons Wren House: Wren House employs Christian women who are passionate about seeing each girl come to know Jesus, and experience His healing. We have both day shift and night shift employees (“house counselors”) who oversee the girls 24/7. We believe that God has created us to need community, and that providing a support system of prayer and encouragement is one practical way we can off-load some of the stress of this difficult, yet extremely important job. We would love for each of our full-time staff members to be “adopted” by a small group, who would be willing to step into this support role through some simple, yet practical ways such as prayer, cards, small gifts, etc. Contact Josh in the church office to adopt a Wren House staff member.

  • Dental packs:  Assemble dental packs to aid and assist the GraceMed Dental Outreach Program which reaches schools and senior living in our city and throughout the state.

  • The Lord’s Diner: Groups are scheduled to serve on a regular basis once a month, depending on their size and availability of dates. New volunteers are required to take an online food safety quiz as well as a Virtus class. Contact Mary Claire at volunteer@thelordsdiner.org.

  • From the Ground Up: Holiday serving opportunities available with Valley Center’s Hornet Hanger providing opportunities to organize, restock, and more to care for VC families. Contact Sarah at fromthegroundup50@gmail.com for more details.

  • Season Yard Care at Riverlawn: Groups can serve by keeping the grounds of Riverlawn clean and presentable, creating a great first impression for new people from our community. Yard work includes weeding the common areas, clearing sidewalks and walking spaces, and more. Contact Greg Schuessler in the office for more details.

  • FosterICT: Annual events for groups such as the Veteran’s Day parade in November, helping get the float organized and ready. The other is Hope and a Future which involves wrapping and organizing gifts. Contact Hannah at hannah@radiantchurchwichita.com for more information.

  • Don’t see your project or want more information? Contact Josh in the church office.
