The Riverlawn Internship Program is a paid, summer ministry opportunity aimed at fostering the growth and development of individuals who are looking to advance the kingdom through Jesus’ disciple making mission.
As a church, Riverlawn is committed making disciples who make disciples. It is our desire to see God glorified through disciples made, both locally and to the ends of the earth. The Internship Program is for individuals who have been saved by Christ, calling upon Him as their personal Lord and Savior and who desire to see the Kingdom of God advanced through the disciple-making mission. This program is also ideal for those who are seeking an internship for college credit as we partner with like-minded schools in making disciples.
Interns can expect to receive practical ministry experience as well as theological training during the course of the program. Interns participate in a learning cohort geared around three components (Scripture, spiritual rhythms, and ministry development) and are provided opportunities that seek to develop the intern in leading, teaching, and coordinating ministry within a local church environment.
Interns will be provided with opportunities to put what they are learning through the cohort into practice and will gain experience in leading, teaching, and coordinating ministry areas and events. Additionally, there will be opportunities that are specific to the individual track of the internship (general, student, kids, etc.) as well as formed around some of the passions and existing skillsets of the intern. Throughout the summer, interns are also provided growth opportunities through various avenues such as coaching, books, assessments, mentoring, etc.
The Internship Program lasts 10 weeks over the course of the summer (typically the week after Memorial Day through the second or third Sunday in August). Interns are expected to work 40 per week within their ministry department. Work schedules will be set by the supervising pastor.
2023 Applications are closed at this time. Look for more information on the 2024 program coming this fall!
